Keeping up with Ambulance Service

Shelby county is in dire need from a lack of Ambulances. With only six for the incorporated areas including Germantown and Collierville, the service is desparate.

I came across another story in this case it is about patient dumping. I don't know how our fellow americans can participate in this. I don't know how a hospital can participate in this.

"Paraplegic allegedly 'dumped' on skid row
L.A. police say man was dropped off in front of dozens of witnesses by van linked to Hollywood Presbyterian hospital."

By Andrew Blankstein and Richard Winton,
Times Staff WritersFebruary 9, 2007
(found at the Los Angeles Times site:

"A paraplegic man wearing a soiled hospital gown and a broken colostomy bag was found crawling in a gutter in skid row in Los Angeles on Thursday after allegedly being dumped in the street by a Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center van, police said."

"The incident, witnessed by more than two dozen people, was described by police as a particularly outrageous case of "homeless dumping" that has plagued the downtown area. "I can't think of anything colder than that," said LAPD Det. Russ Long, who called the case the most egregious of its kind that he has seen in his career."

"There was no mission around, no services. It's the worst area of skid row."Los Angeles Police Department detectives said they connected the van to Hollywood Presbyterian after witnesses wrote down a phone number on the van and took down its license-plate number."

Where do the homeless go?
Where do the mentally ill go if they have noone to help them?
Where do the poor go if they have no income or not enough to support themselves?
Many times our pets and zoo animals are treated better then our fellow humans. You can help today, write, call, fax or email your representatives, Governor Schwarzenegger, and your newspapers.

Shelby County in Ambulance Crisis?

Shelby county residents did you know that there are 6 ambulances to cover all of the unincorprated areas of Shelby county, including Germantown and Collierville.I want you all to think about that!
What has the Mayor and Shelby County Council been doing? Do they value life at all? There have been many recent issues with long waits for ambulances, even possible deaths because of long waits.Do you accept that as the best Sheby county residents deserve?

Please I implore you to write the Commercial Appeal, all the local and state politicians, tell your friends, family, co-workers, and everyone you can think of. Let's push for some real solutions, enough of the baloney!

Those of you outside of Shelby county please help us, pass the word, you can still help with writing letters, makes some phone calls, do something, please.
